That is one of the reasons 1st4Fitness was born. A place where you can be coached in exercise and nutrition and NOT feel intimidated or lost on what to do.
We work with all kinds of people looking to improve their health, wellness and body (including many who’ve never belonged to a gym).
We’re all about getting you sustainable results AND we’re committed to being a fitness home that you actually love.
We do have a crazy bunch of people here. But we prefer the term "mentally hilarious"!
1st4fitness was also created out of frustration, frustration of the poor quality fitness and nutrition advice that is out there.
With the health and wellness industry in the UK being worth £20 billion (This covers a range of different topics from healthy eating, staying fit, maintaining a healthy weight to taking care of mental and physical health.), but the health of the nation continues to decrease.
Hospital admissions where obesity was a factor increased by 18 per cent 2016/2017.
Obesity's link with diabetes is significant: the NHS spends £8.8bn a year on treating Type 2 diabetes - nearly 9% of its budget.
There are around 200,000 new diagnoses of type 2 diabetes in England alone every year.
Type 2 can be controlled/prevented by healthy eating.
And being overweight is the second biggest cause of cancer after smoking, 1 in 20, according to Cancer Research UK. Keeping a healthy weight could help prevent the disease.
There is also the psychological problems such as anxiety, depression and low self-esteem that decreases the quality of life for a large number of people
43.4% of adults think that they have had a diagnosable mental health condition at some point in their life (35.2% of men and 51.2% of women). A fifth of men (19.5%) and a third of women (33.7%) have had a mental health diagnoses confirmed by professionals according to Mentalhealth.org.uk
So, for us this just highlights the initial frustration that created 1st4Fitness, an industry that continues to make more and more money, yet the health of the people it is meant to server gets worse.

Going it alone does work, but only for a small minority. For those that feel the need a positive supportive network from a team of coaches and the family-like clients, all with the common goal of a health and wellness transformation, getting over those "harder times" just become a lot easier.

You might feel like the unfittest person alive, but you can achieve much more than you think you can. Our coaches will guide you through each and every workout so you leave not only energised, but leave every session with a sense of achievement. You will never have to worry about what exercises to do, how to do them for best results. With each session you get closer and closer to your goals.
#3 We're a gym, but not a gym
Going to a regular gym puts terror into some people, we understand this, which is why we have our own fully equipped gym space so we can control the whole environment. No more avoiding the weights area because the people there are intimidate. And there are no mirrors either. Once you walk through our doors, your world can go on hold for an hour, this time is all about you!
#4 Your Nutrition Covered
For a full body, mind and health transformation, nutrition needs to be discussed. We will sit down with you several times, go over your questions and start to delete some of the bad habits and the miss information your have learnt over the years. You'll see how your nutrition does not have to be this minefield you might believe it to be.
Your results based nutrition can fit within your lifestyle, and that feeling you're "on a diet" will be a thing of the past.
